Build It Yourself — But Don't Do It Alone

You’ve got the vision. I’ll help you make it buildable.

DIY should never mean “figure it all out on your own.” I’ve been building post frame structures for over a decade, and I’ve seen too many good projects fall apart because the plans were weak, the materials didn’t match the design, or the builder got stuck with no one to call.

The issue isn’t your skill. It’s that too many kit providers hand you digital tools and walk away. That’s not how we do things here. I built this process to give you expert-level guidance, engineered prints, vetted materials, and access to real training.

I’m not here to sell you a generic kit. I’m here to help you build it right the first time.

The Problem & Our Process

Don’t Just Build — Build With Yellowstone

Basic Kit, Big Guesswork

Plans, Materials, and Support

From Concept to Coaching, You Decide

You Swing the Hammer. We Solve the Headaches.

Not every DIY builder starts at the same place—or needs the same level of help. That’s why we offer three different packages. Whether you’re sketching your first layout or ready to break ground, there’s a plan built for how you build.

Basic Build Plan

Starting at $1,000, this entry-level package includes a consultation, a clear DIY layout, a basic materials list, and a one-page Tip Sheet to guide your next steps.

Engineered Plans + Training

We upgrade your concept into engineered plans that meet code and align with your land. Includes access to our internal subcontractor training videos, so you’re learning what our crew learns.

Plans, Kit & Videos

This is the full-service DIY option. You get stamped plans, materials sourced through us, insider video access, and one-on-one coaching with Rich to guide your build from start to finish.

How It Works — Our Process

From Idea to Engineered Build

We believe every great build starts with a solid plan—and a better process. What you’re building probably isn’t just a structure. It’s a dream you’ve had for a while, maybe something on your bucket list, or something you want to last for the next generation.

That’s why this process exists: to turn that vision into something engineered, sourced, and built right. No generic plans, no box of materials with no instructions, and no “figure it out” when things get tough. We’re here to guide you through every phase—because you’re not just building for today. You’re building something that should last.

Step 1: Submit Your Request

Send in your idea—sketch, example photo, dimensions, or just a basic concept. You don’t need a perfect blueprint to get started. This gives us the starting point to understand what you’re building and why. From there, we’ll schedule a real conversation to help you clarify the direction.

This is a 1:1 call with me. We talk through your project goals, your site conditions, your timeline, and your priorities. I’ll help flag risks, surface tradeoffs, and recommend the right path forward. If the project isn’t a fit, I’ll tell you why—before you spend a dime.

Based on what we discussed, I’ll work with you to draft a buildable layout. That includes roof pitch, opening locations, framing specs, and design tweaks. We make sure the plan matches your intent and the real world before it’s sent to engineering.

Our engineer stamps the plan with your site’s structural and code requirements in mind. This is the version you’ll submit for permits. We don’t move forward until this step is complete—so you’re not building on guesswork.

Once plans are finalized, we source and price your materials based on what was spec’d. You’ll get a full breakdown of materials, delivery estimates, and options for upgrades or changes. We lock it in only once you approve everything.

This is where most kits leave you on your own. We’re not handing you a pile of lumber and walking away.  You get access to our internal training videos—the same ones we use with our crews—and a direct line to me for build questions.

You’re not guessing. You’re building with backup.

You finish the job and step back with pride—not regret. It’s your build, done right.

It’s not just a box checked. It’s a goal accomplished the right way.

Your Journey Starts Here

Complete The Form & We Will Handle The Rest

“I’ve spent decades building barns for clients and on YouTube. I know what it’s like to get stuck mid-project or burned by vague plans. That’s why every kit and plan here is tested—and why I’m just a call away for every DIY client.”
